"Bad news for me and my hungry children (gas guzzling Lamborghini's). Good news for you guys, because for the first time in years we're going to be doing live appearances. Starting Jan. 20th at the Irvine Improv and hopefully coming to a town near you in the New Year. This should be win-win because we'll have a chance to meet you guys in person and for the ones we don't meet you can hear it the next day on the podcast. The live shows are fun but they only work if you guys come out and turn it in to a party. I'll do some stand-up, we'll have some guests and we'll do some live improv "What Can't Adam Complain About?" etc. So every show will be unique and different.

Also, if you come out and bring a copy of The Hammer or T-shirt or the torah, i promise i'll hang out, take pictures, sign, whatever you need.

We're going to continue to expand and offer new and interesting content. Thanks for the support this last year and i look forward to meeting you all in '10!

Adam Carolla on the Henry Rollins Show. Original airdate June 17, 2006. Yes, this is some time ago, but I was cruising through iTunes and saw that he was a guest on Season 1, Episode 12. Adam talks to Rollins about his then recent jump from Loveline to taking over Howard Stern's spot and Rollin's recalls (video below) Adam's rant on the radio about birthday cakes.

"I'm almost shocked he hasn't hosted yet. We know Carolla from The Man Show, Crank Yankers, The Hammer, and his wildly entertaining podcast. Why hasn't he hosted again? Adam is one of those comedians that's funny when he's not even trying to be. It almost seems effortless sometimes. Carolla's been funny at ever single stop in his career.

I think Adam would do very well hosting SNL. You could even let Adam do one of his famous rants on Weekend Update. I'm sold on this idea already. We need to start a petition to get Adam on as a host. America needs this! Carolla hosting could be the most fascinating piece of television in a while. Why? It would give us our next big "finger on the bleep button" live television moment. The FCC would have people dedicated to making sure Carolla didn't say anything crazy. SNL needs a shot in the arm to remind them they're all still comedians and you can straddle the line a little bit. I still blame the Janet/Justin Nipplegate for making every television comedian gun shy."

Classic Loveline episode and Ace on the House

With "Ace on the House" now two episodes in, it seems fitting to revisit the infamous Loveline episode featuring Ty Pennington.  This is a must listen for all its uncomfortable glory.  Adam attempts to play an impromptu quiz game on all things home improvement and Pennington is not very receptive.  The running joke throughout the episode is Adam asking for a stumper.

Adam:  "What does MDF stand for?"
Ty:  "Multiple Fiber Density Board"
Adam (interjects): "Medium Density Fiber Board" ..."It's gonna be a long night."

Excellent.

Adam: "Think of a tool.  Ask me a blade question."  "...pull out the heavy guns and ask me a question" "Come up with something that'll stump me."

Adam (on Ty):  "He's got laquer brain."

Adam was great, nay, he was excellent and ON.  I know he often mentions that he isn't very good at stand-up but he's great off the cuff, and Adam + mic + stage = great stand-up.  Getting to see him play off the crowd was fun and I hope Adam and the podcast team will be able to make this a regular or annual event.

2010 here we come... and here comes the ACE Broadcast Network coming to the interwebs.  Brace yourself kiddies, I don't think I'll be able to keep up with him, but I'll try.

Adam Carolla Holiday Podcast LIVE at the Irvine Improv

Hi all-- Just came back from the 8PM show at the Improv.  It was great and had lots of fun.  Adam stayed on the stage the whole time with all the different guests.  Here's a breakdown of the 8PM show, I'm sure the 10PM show will have a different lineup.

• Ralph Garman introduces Adam
• Adam does what might be 20 mins on a story about being at Jimmy's house, taking a whiz, and yelling at his daughter.
  
• Bald Bryan comes on stage to finally relieve Adam of his curiosity over how much was made from the Laughs for Bald Bryan fundraiser... $150,000.00  He's looking good and sounds good too.  Just needed help getting on stage and Adam talked briefly that they are working on getting Bryan "back where he belongs behind the sound board with his drops".  Excellent!
  
• Petros and Money come up and talk with Adam about the wonder that is BALLS "All ball talk", Petros shares his secret of losing his left nipple and how his balls were massaged during a San Diego State game (he played football for USC)
• Ralph Garman joins Adam in a small chat about Adam's favorite show that's no longer on "To Catch a Predator"
  
• Frank Stallone shares how he got on the Staying Alive soundtrack and sings 
• Joe Rogan talks with Adam on how its way too easy to make a human

Hope to hear how the 10PM show went and how the lineup was. I would have taken more pictures during the show but I was told by security that no pictures were allowed.  The line was wrapped around the building when we were leaving, which is great that Adam and the podcast crew were able to get such a good turnout.  We'll find out soon enough from the podcast all the details, but thought I just put it out there for a teaser.

“Even though this is the 23rd time I've won Podcast of the Year, it never gets old,” said Adam Carolla on “The Adam Carolla Podcast” being named to iTunes Best of 2009 list for the first time.

As part of iTunes Rewind Awards, Carolla’s podcast, which has been downloaded more than 40 million times, has received their Best of 2009 #1 (Audio) Podcast Award. Suze Ormond's financial show took #1 in the Video Podcast category.

On the heels of this news, Carolla has announced plans to start an online broadcast network in February of next year. The Adam Carolla Entertainment Network, or A.C.E., will continue to broadcast "The Adam Carolla Podcast," as well as his automotive-oriented “Carcast.” The network will also feature new audio podcasts as well as video content.
