Comedian Adam Carolla, known as the former co-host of The Man Show and as a TV talk-show host, will perform a stand-up routine to open Sears’ new Craftsman Experience showroom on Aug. 26.
The showroom, designed to showcase tools, will open at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 at 233 W. Huron St., with Carolla appearing at about 7 p.m.
Carolla, who worked as a carpenter before turning to television, will show off his do-it-yourself skills at the showroom’s project stations, including landscaping, woodworking and auto repair.
The Craftsman Experience will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
It’s part of Sears Holdings Corp.’s efforts to win new customers by introducing them to Sears’ products in a new, sleeker way. Sears has opened a Kenmore studio to highlight its appliances. For back-to-school, Sears hosted makeovers for girls at its Woodfield Mall store, and Kmart introduced an exclusive clothing line designed by 17-year-old Disney star Selena Gomez.
