Celebrity Nerd Off- Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn and Dana Gould

In honor of Brian Posehn's upcoming appearance on the Adam Carolla Show, here is Celebrity Nerd Off from the old radio show 2006.  Celebrity Nerd Off stars Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn and Dana Gould.  "They compete to see who is King of Nerd Mountain."  To answer each are to yell out "Virgin" (Posehn), Geek (Gould), and Spaz (Oswalt).  Just to set the scene, the first question is "From the Lord of the Rings- Who cut off Sauron's finger?"

Twitter roll: @thebrianposehn , @pattonoswalt , @danajgould

Brian also made an appearance on Greg Fitzsommon's podcast yesterday so check it out here http://www.gregfitzsimmons.com/2010/08/17/greg-and-brian-posehn/

Adam, Jimmy and Sex in the City 2 date night

I was listening to some older ACS episodes and couldn't get over the fact the Adam had watched Sex in the City 2.  He went into some detail with Teresa on the characters and the "storyline".   I found a clip that shows Adam with Jimmy leaving the movie theater after Sex in the City2.  They even went out for his birthday to see it!  Awesome to think he passed up Kick Ass to see SITC2 (yeah, I just spelled out the acronyms.  Let's hope that's the last time I ever have to do that and Adam doesn't go to see #3).  X17online.com even made sure to tag this post with "gay".

Adam in Chicago Aug 26- Sears Craftsman Experience

Comedian to open Sears' Craftsman Experience space :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Business
August 17, 2010  Below from above article by Sandra Guy

Comedian Adam Carolla, known as the former co-host of The Man Show and as a TV talk-show host, will perform a stand-up routine to open Sears’ new Craftsman Experience showroom on Aug. 26.
The showroom, designed to showcase tools, will open at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 at 233 W. Huron St., with Carolla appearing at about 7 p.m.

Carolla, who worked as a carpenter before turning to television, will show off his do-it-yourself skills at the showroom’s project stations, including landscaping, woodworking and auto repair.

The Craftsman Experience will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

It’s part of Sears Holdings Corp.’s efforts to win new customers by introducing them to Sears’ products in a new, sleeker way. Sears has opened a Kenmore studio to highlight its appliances. For back-to-school, Sears hosted makeovers for girls at its Woodfield Mall store, and Kmart introduced an exclusive clothing line designed by 17-year-old Disney star Selena Gomez.

For Sale

Anyone have $1,369,700.00 lying around?  If so, check out one of Adam's properties that is currently on the market.  Good ol' Mrs. Misraje (Donny's mom) is his trusty agent.

"This landmark home is being sold by the 2nd owner since 1944. This extraordinary unique property was renovated in 1996. The home is security gated & situated on a premier promontory point in Beachwood Cyn. The site is a historic designated Mulholland stone wall lot."

(Post)Secret Guest Crushes

I've got a secret.  I secretly want Frank Warren as a guest on the Adam Carolla Show.  From neontommy.com an interview with Frank Warren, PostSecret.com creator, Warren says that he and Adam went to elementary school together.  Hmm... let's find out if they knew each other then.  If not, it would still be fascinating , in my nerdy opinion, to find out where that conversation could go.

More on PostSecret.com and at Twitter @postsecret

My short wish list of guests:
Jon Hamm - Hammy as Adam calls him.  Hello.  He's been a guest on Bill Simmons show (another guest crush) and I enjoyed listening to their banter.  Somebody make this happen.
Paul Rudd- Watched him on The Kevin Pollack Chat Show (link to interview) and he's a sports fan and an ex-bat mitzvah DJ (watch vintage video of his DJ skills here)
Kenny Mayne- C'mon Adam did his Mayne Street internet show. (Watch: Adam on Mayne Street)
Anthony Bourdain- the food nerd in me says PLEASE!

Former guests that need to come by:
Jimmy Kimmel- After Adam's last appearance on JKL its fun to watch these guys interact.
Bill Simmons-  I admit I listen to Bill's podcast and could easily have a Subway Fresh Take Blog for him as well.
Bryan Cranston-  This is a guy who just gets along with Adam is a great guest every time.
Rich Eisen-   He was just on The Kevin Pollak Chat Show (link to interview) and always thought he was entertaining.

Superfan Giovanni helps bring back Old School Adam

So I've been living under a rock for a couple of months, laying low online, and now I'm back and man have I been enjoying the Raider of the Lost Tapes podcast.  Giovanni has put together, very meticulously, some (understatement) classic clips and I recommend subscribing to it on iTunes or checking out his site at http://giopodcast.com  I grew up listening to Loveline and this brings back memories of laughing my ass off with my headphones plugged into my giant Walkman.  Thanks for bringing back the memories.

Adam and his love for making TV

Adam mid-rant about making TV from his visit on Loveline (7/19/2010).   "TV is a land of never having to apologize."  "The unspoken rule is No Speaking."

Just for Laughs: Chicago, The View and Mitch Hedberg

Hey- I know that I'm two months behind on this, but just more stuff for the archives.

Here's a quick interview with Adam during his appearance at the Just for Laughs festival held in Chicago, June 2010.  He challenges "The View" ladies once again and brings the late great Mitch Hedberg into the mix.

I tried to embedded it but don't know what the hell is going on with it, so click on the link above.

Here's also 20 minutes (second half is Chris Hardwick) of an interview with Chicagoist's Karl Klockars.
To listen, just click play or right click to save:Just For Laughs - Adam Carolla - Chris Hardwick

And just for fun since we're talking about Just for Laughs and Mitch Hedberg.

Classic Carolla- Beware of Nerd Rage

Seeing as though some of our nerd brethren are coming off of the high from Comic Con here is a Classic Carolla clip from The Man Show.  Watch the nerds get angry when Jimmy and Adam cut in line for Star Wars Episode 1.

More Adam and Jimmy fun on JKL

More Jimmy and Adam fun from his appearance on JKL.  Enjoy the awkwardness that is kids and TV.  My favorite quote:  "Normally I'm jealous that you have a late night show, but not now."

Carolla's Rejected Book Covers

From Part 3 of Adam's appearance on JKL

Adam's real book cover... I enjoy that Adam says Jimmy's team took 10 mins to mock these up and they were better than what he got for a cover.
